Sponsor a Fence!

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

SOAR is looking for volunteers to sponsor and build fences for our low-cost fencing program.

No experience is necessary! This program assists low-income families and individuals who need help getting their dog off a chain and into a humane enclosure. To get an idea of what a fencing day looks like, please watch this short video of a fencing program in Durham, NC.

Building a fence costs SOAR $300.00. By clicking on the PayPal link on the home page, you can help fund a fence for a well-deserving dog. SOAR has been able to help a few lucky dogs get off their chains and into a humane enclosure:

REAPER

Reaper, a pit bull terrier, lived with a low-income family, tied to a tree with about 3 feet of chain. His "shelter" was an airline carrier that had holes in it.  We convinced the family to let us fence in some of the yard for him.

I think his face says it all......Look at that smile.

ROCK:

Rock's owner got him when he was just a little baby. At first he lived inside, but as he grew, the more destructive he got. So he found himself tied up in the yard, and many of his neighbors called Animal Control because they were worried about his welfare. SOAR fenced in a small area for Rock so that he can be off the chain.
