Ennis argues that Crichton's move to the halves has impacted the Bulldogs' attack, and he advocates for a return to the centres for the talented outside back. Additionally, Ennis expresses doubts about the creativity and impact of fullback Connor Tracey and dummy-half Bailey Hayward, despite their high work rate.
A Creative Spark Needed
"The Bulldogs need to find that creative spark that can ignite their attack and propel them towards the top of the ladder," Ennis says. "While Tracey and Hayward bring effort and determination, it's clear that they lack the X-factor required to consistently create opportunities and score points."
Ennis further elaborates on the team's defensive mindset under coach Cameron Ciraldo, which initially caused struggles due to the quick ruck speed. As the season progressed and referees adjusted their rulings, the Bulldogs' defense improved, but their attack remained a work in progress.
Youth and Experience
"The Bulldogs have some promising young talent coming through, like Mitch Woods and Alex Conti," Ennis notes. "Conti, in particular, has shown great potential in the NSW Cup, but they need to find the right balance between youth and experience in their spine."
